I have always loved the sea, perhaps because I grew up in a town located nearby the sea. I love the space, the waves the crushing
noise, the foam thrown onto the sand. It's no wonder that the Aqua Marine ,was the first stone that captivated me during my jewelry
studies. I like to use the stone, which for me symbolizes the combination of peace and power I set the Aquamarine stones in rings, earrings chains and necklaces. Sometimes I set it by itself, and then it has great presence. Sometimes I combine it with other stones and still, it is prominent and impressive. The Aquamarine stone is a member of the beryl family. It’s composed of beryllium, aluminum, silicate, and oxygen. It ranges in colors of extraordinarily beautiful delicate blue to blue-green, from clear transparent to matte. Its outer crystallization structure is hexagonal. The main mines for the Aquamarine are found in Africa, Brazil and Madagascar. Working with aquamarine was considered appropriate for those who were close to water and sea such as divers, fishermen, scientists and zoologist’s of marine sea. The Aqua Marine’s is the birthstone of Aquarius Scorpio, Libra and Taurus.
Since early times, aquamarine was used to endow the wearer with foresight, courage, and happiness. It is said to increase intelligence and make one youthful. As a healing stone, it is said to be effective as a treatment for anxiety and in the Middle Ages it was thought that aquamarine would reduce the effect of poisons. When I look at a person with blue eyes and as I watch the sea and the blue skies it touches me. What about you?
